There are roughly 60 members of AIMD, or fully known as Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Department, that specialize in areas such as Avionics, Airframes, Powerplants, Support Equipment, and Aviation Life Support Systems to name a few. These men and women provide support to TH-57’s, T-6’s, T-45’s, support equipment to Whiting Field, NAS Pensacola, Choctaw Field, Corry Station, and the world-famous Blue Angels flight demonstration team. Maintenance includes, but is not limited to, Non-Destructive Inspections, welding, replacing aircraft and support equipment tires, repairing airframe structures and hydraulic systems, avionics repairs, parachutes and oxygen systems, and the maintaining and repairs of support equipment.
